THE FLYING FISH
"The Flying Fish" is the first novel Pau Porta is working on.
It is a fiction book that talks about fear and how it censures our dreams and purposes in life.
The story takes place in an imaginary society, in the midst of an industrial revolution, where every contact or thought about what’s abroad the island is forbidden.
Eric Lartigue, the young son of a powerful family of bourgeois, is not happy with the kind of life he has. He dreams about explore the world, but he is scared to face his fears, family and society.
In this dystopian society they all are the creators of their fate and way to live.
Some characters are brave enough to face their fears and go further. And some others are too scared to even think who they are or what they want.
A PLACE TO CALL HOME
"A Place to Call Home" is a screenplay for a feature film that Pau Porta is currently working.
Mark, a pop star obsessed to regain his fame, and his son Hermes go in a road trip to accomplish his deceased mother's last wish.
Father and son haven't seen each other in years. Hermes has never accepted the fact that his father broke up with his mother, to bet for his musical career, when Hermes was just a kid.
After Julia's dead both characters are forced to live together and rebuild their relationship. Music is going to play an very important role on it.
