"Don't dream it, Be it."
Pau Porta (1994) is a writer, filmmaker and illustrator from Lleida, Catalonia (Spain).
In 2016, He graduated with the Bachelor of Audiovisual Communication at the UNIVERSITY OF BARCELONA.
During his uni years, he participated in several short films mostly as a screenwriter. Also, he collaborated actively as a volunteer in the important international festival such as ANIMAC or SITGES FILM FESTIVAL. After his undergraduate degree, he did a Creative Writing Course in 2017 mentored by the awarded writer Lolita Bosch. It was then that he discovered his passion for writing and he started his adventure to write his first novel.
Regarding his professional experience, he was working for four years as a movie projectionist at PUCK CINEMA CARAVANA, the smallest cinema on Earth.
In addition, he had the opportunity to be the illustrator of the book "Arran the Cel" by Adold Boldú, published in 2014.
Between 2019 and 2021 he studies an MLitt in Publishing at the UNIVERSITY OF STIRLING, Scotland (UK).
During his years living in Edinburgh (2018-2019), he collaborates as a community manager of the cinema platform CINEMAATTIC being part of great projects such as SCAT (Scottish Catalan Film Festival). Also, while he worked on his first novel he improved his writing skills doing a Screenwriting Course (2018) by Douglas Dougan at the UNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH. Once back in Catalonia, he focused on producing promotional and corporative videos, some of them for the shop SOM D’ART and the l’AJUNTAMENT DE LLEIDA (City Council of Lleida).
His most recent project has been working alongside the music compositor Miquel de Jorge to create the cantata EL BOSC VIU (2022) commissioned by EL CONSERVATORI DE LLEIDA.
